Mithila Plant Pots and Saucers
Do you ever find plant pots to be just a little bit dull? Well, that definitely isn't the case with these fair trade pots and saucers from Nepal. The terracotta pots are decorated in a traditional style known as Mithila after the region it originates from. This distinctive style uses a variety of implements such as brushes, sticks, nib pens, matchsticks and fingers to create colourful designs depicting images from nature. They would make a vibrant complement to any plant and come with a matching drip tray.
As these dishes are handpainted, designs and colours will vary. If you have a particular preference then please let us know when you order and we will do our best to help!
Small pots: 11cm diameter x 10cm high, drip tray 10cm diameter x 2.5cm high
Large pots: 18cm diameter x 17cm high, drip tray 5cm diameter x 2.5cm high
These pots are handmade by fair trade artisans in a small workshop employing five women in Nepal. They are brought to us by Siesta, who have been working for more than 35 years to build up business relationships with artisans from all around the world that are based on mutual respect and trust rather than on exploitation. Like many of our suppliers (and ourselves), they are members of BAFTS Fair Trade Network UK.
