This chic and stylish fair trade bag is a fantastic and sustainable way to carry your belongings around town or in the countryside. It can be worn on the shoulder or across your body with an easy adjustment of the straps and has a useful zip pocket for your keys or phone. But practicality aside, each bag is also a glorious piece of up-cycling magic, creating a value and a use for plastic and fabric waste, while the African print fabrics off-cuts are an absolutely stunning medley of colour and design. 

With each bag being completely unique we can't guarantee the design of the bag you will receive, although if you do specify a main colour when making your order we will do our best to match that. But it might be better to just leave it to chance - secure in the knowledge that whatever bag you get will be beautiful!

These bags are made in Ghana by a social enterprise dedicated to tackling the problem of plastic waste, particularly drinking water sachets. The collecting team gather 250,000 pieces of plastic waste and 2000 yards of waste fabric every month from the streets and beaches of Accra. The bags are then made in a solar powered factory by local fair trade artisans who are mainly women. Up to 70 sachets are used in each item and any leftover waste is recycled into plastic pallets so this is a truly zero waste process. The bags are brought to us by Trashy Bags who, like us, are members of BAFTS Fair Trade Network UK.
