Barret's Ridge Beer Bread - Italian Cheese

On a cold winter's day is there anything better than a bowl of soup with freshly baked bread? But when do we have time to make a loaf from scratch at such a busy time of year? This is where this yummy fair trade Beer Bread can come to the rescue! Simply add beer, cider, non-alcoholic beer or soda water, mix well and bake and you will be tucking into tasty bread in no time! This variety is flavoured with Italian cheese - a deliciously savoury combination - and would also make the perfect gift to enable a foody friend to create an ethical meal in minutes!

Ingredients: Wheat Flour (Fortified (mineral salts (electrolytic iron, zinc oxide), vitamins (A, B1, B2, B3, B6, B9)), Sugar (Granulated cane sugar (sucrose), Flavouring (Cereal (wheat), flavourant (concentrated butter powder (maltdextrin, milk powder (milk), vegetable oil (sunflower), anticaking agent (E551), Starch (corn), antioxidants (E319, E320, E321), whey powder. Raising agent (baking powder, calcium carbonate, corn starch, potassium bitartrate).

This fair trade Beer Bread is produced by Barret's Ridge in South Africa, based on old family recipes. Each bag is packed by women from the Ukama Community Foundation, which supplies and equips informal creches to run feeding schemes for over 200 children per day in Vrygrond, Western Cape. And the bag containing the Beer Bread is created and handcrafted by the women of Deaf Hands at Work, which provides a platform for Hard of Hearing and Deaf individuals to launch their careers. The bags are also reusable.
